Dubai is a city full of controversy. Western values and Oriental traditions enter into a but also collide directly with each other. But this world of luxury in the desert also has its dark side.
Thousands of South Asian guest workers have made it possible for Dubai to rise to the glamour league of the world’s metropolises. They themselves have nothing to gain from this – only debts, starvation wages and living conditions. Exactly these contrasts are to be illuminated in this photo book and the luxury world of the Emirati, the life of the guest workers to be contrasted. These two sides should also be reflected in the design.
